Shiny, dark green, heart-shaped leaves are held out on upright stems, allowing the red petioles to be clearly visible from all around. The red colouring extends up into the leaf. The flower scapes and seed pods are also purple-red, so there's plenty of crimson about. It's also happy in the sun.
